Beauty Queen Stands Up For Sanctity Of Marriage!!

I don't watch Miss USA TV shows normally, but I saw on the news today Miss California (not sure of her real name) being interviewed on NBC for remarks she made during the show. Apparently a judge asked her what was her thoughts on gay marriages, considering Vermont was now the fourth state to accept it. She didn't even hesitate but stood up straight and said with a smile, "I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anyone out here. But that is how I believe and that is how I was raised." During the interview, Matt whats-his-face inquired why she didn't just give a more mutual answer...not such a straight answer. She answered saying something about how it didn't matter what the judges thought of her in that aspect, but what God would think. (That wasn't verbatim, but I just can't seem to remember what exactly she said.) She was so gracious and sweet about it too...not condescending or judgemental. Let's hear it for our sister-in-Christ! Isn't it awesome to hear of Christians who are standing up for what they believe in no matter the consquences?

Grace said...: Yes, go Miss CA!! The only thing I didn't like about her was the way she worded her statement. I'm very pleased with the content she answered, but her grammar was horrible and made her look rather unintelligent. :( But, since it was spur-of-the-moment deal, I can kind of understand the mish-mosh of thoughts going on...I'm glad she at least got her point across!!; May 3, 2009 at 8:07 PM

~For Megan who is having surgery for her scoliosos tomorrow morning (August 4th). Please pray that God would give the doctor's wisdom, Megs and her parents strength, and for her quick healing.

~ For the Vogals and their new sweet daughter with down syndrom - that God would bless them and provide the things they need for her.

~For my friend Kevin who is suffering from severe back pains and will most likely be having surgery in the next few months. Please pray that God would give the doctor's wisdom, Kevin strength, and for his quick healing.

~For my uncle Fred who has 11 herniated disks on his neck and back and is barely able to move.

~For my 11-year-old cousin, Michael, who has been diagnosed with a rare cancer that only five children in the USA has. Please pray for his healing and strength, and for the strength of his mother and sisters that they might lean on Christ. The Chemo is taking a huge toll on him so please pray that he'll remain strong. :(

~The unbelieving family members in both my father's and mother's side.

~For the leaders of this country - that they will have the brains to realize they are screwing up this country and a billion other stuff and that God would work in their hearts and guide them.

~For all the many persecuted Christians in the communist countries of this world who are struggling to keep the Word of God alive, that many people will be reached, that they'll remain strong, and they'll be provided with materials.

~For all my awesome brother's and sister's-in-Christ - that God will continue to use all of us for His Will, be on fire for Him, be willing to serve Him in any situation, and that we will have the strength to not be moved.
