I once knew a girl who had a serious...enjoyment for the Jonas Brothers Band. In fact, she loved to talk about them above anything else. She'd send e-mails after e-mails, showing me videos, pictures, and other stuff all about them. She'd go on and on, describing them by using words like "BEAUTIFUL", "absolutely amazing", "awesome", "the coolest", "cute as can be", "totally amazing singers", "I just adore them", "I am in love with them", etc. E-mail after e-mail, until my mom and I decided enough is enough and asked her to end those types of e-mails.
It occurred to me that this is how passionate we ought to be for our Lord and Savior. We should desire to talk and think of him over anything else. We ought to use every opportunity to tell people about how awesome He is and yearn to learn more about Him and grow close to Him. We need to have a blazing desire to follow Him and trust Him with all our hearts. Let's be ON FIRE for Him!
Psalm 84:2 "My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God."
2 Peter 3:18 "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen."
Psalm 13:5 "But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation."
Psalm 28:7 "The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song."
Deuteronomy 6:5 "Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength."
I strive to be on fire for Jesus, to walk with Him, and trust Him in all situations, but I fail constantly. I've found, though, when I'm feeling lukewarm in my relationship with Him that by praying earnestly and reading my Bible, counting my endless blessings He has bestowed upon me each and every day, referring to encouraging and uplifting verses helps me to remain in awe of what He's done for me and to strive to be on burning for Him.
To my sisters and brothers in Christ, let us encourage each other to keep our fire burning by praying for one another and asking how the Lord has shone you His unfailing love today! :)

AMEN!!! that's what we all need...when we get lukewarm just dive back in!
Yes! Amen, sistah! That's what it's all about!
Yes Evann! It's sad how I find myself becoming so excited about something and then think..."was I that excited to read my Bible this morning?" But really, I am cheating myself when I take more delight in other things...because Christ and His work on the Cross is so amazing!
Thanks for the encouragement and reminder!
Love you,
Meg

love you!
Thank you, girls, for the encouraging comments!!
Ok, Jolie...about my last comment on your blog. I was zoning out while typing...why? I was drugged up. Just can't get myself to lay off the Crack, you know? (So just kidding!) No, I'm having an alergic reaction and we THINK it is peanuts (we thought I outgrew it...guess not.) and I looked like Bob The Tomato and was scratching like a maniac. So, my mom drugged me up with Benedryl (spl?). Didn't work. But anyway, I forgot to add a few stuff since I wasn't entirely lucid. I want to go to Israel as a missionary, also the middle east, Egypt, Africa, North Korea (do you want to go to north or south?), China, and several other countries (the dangerous countries is how they will probably be labeled). That is SO cool you want to go to the same! I also want to start off being a missionary in America. I recently had a really awesome idea about witnessing to gangs and homeless people in the major cities like Detroit, Chicago, L.A., New York, etc. I don't have it entirely worked out, but I'm going to write a post on it soon. That is so awesome you want to be a missionary too!
Yay! I love that! Nicely put Evann. =)
can't wait to see you and jason tomorrow!! =D
(Hannah) Lol! Looking forward to see you too!!!
